Before Your Appointment

Remove Your Contact Lenses Before Arriving
If you wear contact lenses, please remove them before arriving at our office. Contact lenses can temporarily affect the surface and shape of your eyes, which may interfere with certain measurements and testing performed during your examination.

Confirm Your Appointment
Before your scheduled visit, you will receive a text message or phone call confirming your appointment. Please follow the instructions provided to confirm your visit or contact our office if you need to reschedule.

Complete Any Requested Forms
If you receive registration forms or other paperwork before your appointment, completing them in advance can help make the check-in process more efficient.
What To Bring
To help us prepare for your visit, please bring:
A photo ID
Your current medical insurance card
Your vision insurance card, if applicable
A current list of medications and supplements
Your glasses
Your contact lens prescription or contact lens information, if applicable
Sunglasses and a ride home if your eye exam includes dilation.
Plan for Possible Dilation
A dilated examination can help your doctor identify signs of cataracts, glaucoma, retinal conditions, and other changes affecting your eye health. Your doctor will determine whether dilation is appropriate based on the type of examination you need and your individual eye health.
Dilating drops generally take several minutes to fully take effect.
After dilation, you may experience:
Increased sensitivity to light
Blurry near vision
Difficulty focusing on close objects
How Long Will My Eye Exam Take?
The length of your appointment depends on the type of examination and testing you need. Plan on at least 2 hours at the office due to testing and dilation. Certain eye conditions also require multiple tests before you meet with your doctor. Our goal is to keep your visit moving efficiently while giving your care team the time and information needed to thoroughly evaluate your eyes.
